Srđan Antić

Srdjan “Riki” Antic (Serbian Cyrillic: Срђан „Рики“ Антић; born December 10, 1960) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and a former head coach of the Libyan national team.

Biography

He developed his coaching skills under the guidance of Aleksandar Nikolić, Dušan Ivković, Ranko Žeravica, Božidar Maljković, Duško Vujošević, Slavko Trninić etc. Srdan gained experience by coaching different teams in various Serbian basketball clubs (Voždovac, Partizan, Crvena zvezda and NIS Vojvodina).

Coach Srdan “Riki” Antic played basketball in Partizan Belgrade, but unfortunately his career as a basketball player ended, due to an injury, before he was able to join the senior team.

Antic’s coaching career started in 1981 as the junior team assistant coach in club Vozdovac in Belgrade. The following season Srdan moved to Partizan Belgrade, to lead the woman team, with whom he won three Yugoslav leagues (in 1983, 1984 and 1985), two Yugoslav Cups (in 1984 and 1985), also as the head coach of the Partizan Belgrade Cadet Team, he won first Yugoslav Cadet Championship in the club’s history.

In the season of 1988 he returned to Vozdovac Belgrade as a senior team’s head coach. His international coaching career began in 1991. He was a coach in Spain, Portugal, Libya, UAE and KSA, where he won several titles and was awarded the title “The Best Coach” at the Dubai International Tournament (2008).

From 1988 to 2000 he was the head coach of the women's team and a member of a coaching staff of the men's team Red Star Belgrade (1998–2000).

Since 2000. again works as head coach of men basketball teams. First, in NIS Vojvodina (YUBA male basketball professional league of Serbia and Montenegro and later in Libya (National Senior Team, Al Ittihad Tripoli, Al Nasr Benghazi), UAE (Al Nasr Dubai, Al Wasl Dubai), KSA (Al Ahly Jeddah)...

He actively participated at many international coaching seminars and was a lecturer at International Coaching Clinics in Spain, Portugal and Greece organized by European Coaches Association. As a FIBA Expert held classes in "COACHING PROGRAM" as a part of the "DEVELOPMENT PLAN" by Central Board of FIBA Asia coordinated with FIBA Sport and Development Department. In Libya he worked as a teacher in The National Basketball Coaches School.

Currently, at the same time with the coaching, he is Co-Founder and C.E.O. of the Multidisciplinary Sports Academy “Serhispana”.
