Sreekanth Sasikanth is an Indian Singer and an actor hailing from Kochi in Kerala. He has had his presence in the Malayalam Music Industry since the age of 16. He is also a popular VJ and has done shows in various TV channels in Malayalam.

Early life

He started learning music at the age of 7. At the age of 16 he started participating in various singing competitions in television channels which earned him recognition and also laid the foundation for his career in Music.

Career

In 2006, he began his career in music through the television show "Raindrops" in Kairali TV functioning under Malayalam Communications. He also anchored the show "Sing N Win" which was a musical quiz show in Kairali TV. In 2007, he started anchoring and singing in the show "Ganamela" in Kairali WE channel which was the first ever live telecast singing talent show in Malayalam. He continued his association with the channel till 2011. During this time, he had also started performing in various stage shows with various popular artists in India. In 2013, he started his association with Surya Music (under Sun Network) and did two music related shows; "Jackpot - Music Quiz" and "Ormakal Countdown". During this period, he also performed in Kappa TV in the show "Music Journey"[1] which was also the beginning of the band "Paattukada" led by music composer Sunny Viswanath in which he is a vocalist. Following the performance, the band was called upon by the legendary director Padmasree Bharath Balachandra Menon for his come back show held at Kottayam which was a huge success. In continuation of this, an equally successful show was held in Dubai.[2] Following the show in Dubai, "Paattukada" went on to perform in Kappa TV's "Shoot an Idea Season 2"[3] which was highly acclaimed and also the closing ceremony of prestigious 35th National Games of India in Thrissur district of Kerala.

Apart from singing, he has also acted in Adverts.[4] It was music director Sunny Viswanath who also recognized his skill in acting and encouraged him to pursue the same. One of the biggest changes in his professional life came in 2015 when he was cast as one of the lead characters[5][6] of the movie Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum[7][8][9][10][11][12] which also marked the come back of Padmasree Bharath Balachandra Menon into film direction. It was music director Sunny Viswanath who introduced him to playback singing through his film Sambar[13][14] in 2016 in which he has rendered three songs namely; "The Sambar Song" which is the title song of the movie, "Aakasha Paalathil" which is a travel song and "Poomkathirukal (Reprise version)" which is a slower version of the song "Poomkathirukal". Lyrics for the songs has been penned by Harinarayanan BK & Delsy Ninan.
