Srikanth Balachandran is an Indian business executive. He is the current Global CHRO of Bharti Airtel, an Indian multinational telecommunications services company with operations in 20 countries. With more than 318 million mobile customers, Airtel is the world's third in customer base. Airtel is the leading telecom company in India.[1][2]

Education

Srikanth has an undergraduate degree in commerce from Madras University. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant securing All India second rank in the process.[3]

Career

Srikanth joined Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), a FMCG company in 1985. He worked in Unilever for 23 years taking positions including vice president, finance & commercial and head, global finance transformation at Unilever’s head office in London.

In 2008, he joined Bharti Airtel as the CFO. In 2011, he took over the role of global CFO overseeing the financials of Airtel's operations in more than 20 countries across the globe. In August 2015, he became the Global Chief Human Resources Officer of Airtel.

Across the 20 countries of its operations, Airtel has almost 25,000 employees. In July 2015, Airtel was awarded the Business World HR Excellence Award for the "Best Employee Engagement" in India. In February 2016, Airtel was ranked No.1 in telecom sector and no.8 across all sectors in the "Best Companies to work for in India" survey conducted by Business Today.[4]

Awards

In June 2014, Srikanth was recognized as the Best Telecom CFO by CNBC-TV18.[5]
