Srinath Narayanan

Srinath Narayanan (born 1994) is a former chess prodigy from Chennai, India. His talent in chess was recognized when he beat his father in a chess game at the age of five.

Srinath became the youngest FIDE rated chess player in India in 2002. In July 2005, he won the under-12 world chess championship held in Belfort, France, along with three others - Sanan Sjugirov of Russia, Samvel Ter Sahakyan of Armenia and Wesley So of Philippines. All four had a final score of 8.5.

Srinath is an International Master. His FIDE Elo rating as of NOV 2012 is 2438.

In June 2012, Srinath won the Asian Junior Chess Championship in Tashkent. He achieved his maiden Grandmaster norm by winning the championship.[1]
