St Mary’s Cathedral of Kandanad
St. Mary's Cathedral of Kandanad is the Cathedral of Kandanad Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. The Cathedral is located 1.5 km. east of Udayamperoor in Ernakulam district in Kerala. Its foundations are believed to be over 1000 years old. The church has been rebuilt and remodeled many times and the present form of the building dates from 1910.
The Synod of Diamper was held there in 1599. Amongst those buried in the cathedral are the last Raja of Villarvattom.
