St. Anthony's College, Wattala (සාන්ත අන්තෝනි ජාතික පාසල වත්තල ) is a college in Wattala, Sri Lanka.[1][2][3][4]

History

When the Japanese army attacked Colombo in 1945, a state of emergency prevailed. City dwellers escaped the city and military agencies commandeered school buildings. To provide an alternate education program for students displaced from St. Benedict's of Kotahena and St. Josephs of Colombo, Rev. Brother Chistansian, the Provincial at that time, was able to inexpensively purchase a building and its land from Mr. James. On 21 April 1942 a group of Rev. Brothers moved to the property under the leadership of Brother Vincent Joseph. Shortly thereafter, they had created classrooms and began admitting students.
