St. John's National School

St. John's National School was the very first school established in Shannon, County Clare in 1962.[1] It is a Church of Ireland affiliated school under the patronage of the Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe.[2] Its foundation was paralleled with the opening of Christ Church (now closed)[3] and other developments in the Shannon area. The school pursues the Follow Me[4] religious programme endorsed by The Church of Ireland, Methodist and Presbyterian Boards of Education; however the school caters for those of all faiths and none.[2]
