St. Louis Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It is the only Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles.
Description
St. Louis Catholic High School is accredited by AdvancED and the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, serving as the educational center for the Diocese of Lake Charles. Formed in 1970 from its parent institutions, St. Charles Academy, Sacred Heart High School and Landry Memorial, St. Louis Catholic High School continues a long tradition of providing its students with a Catholic education. The school, supporting the parents as the primary educators, strives to create an atmosphere in which the students value God and develop their own giftedness in order to take their respective places in the global community as responsible Catholic Christians.
To accomplish this task, each student is encouraged to be intellectually, morally, physically, socially and spiritually prepared. St. Louis Catholic is dedicated to the ideals of a living faith community in which mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual responsibility are lived examples of all as we model our teacher Jesus Christ. The school currently has 590 students, grades 9th and 12th. The faculty consists of 58 members: 32 bachelors and 26 master’s degrees. St. Louis Catholic is governed by a Board of Directors guided by the Bishop of the Diocese of Lake Charles, the pastors of the 15 owner parishes and the Rector.
