St. Mary's Academy is a private Catholic convent school in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The school was established as a boys-only school on 4 February 1952 by Brother O'Brien, Brother Dunne, Brother Mahoney and Brother Fitz Patrick of the Society of the Brothers of St. Patrick.[1][2]
The school admits pupils only in Grade 1 through a competitive entrance examination followed by an interview. The students take the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education in tenth grade and Indian School Certificate (ISC) thereafter. The principal is Rev. Brother (Dr.) Babu Varghese[3] and Vice-Principal is Rev. Bro. Solomon.
Campus
Since the early 1960s, the school has had its campus in the leafy suburbs of Meerut, next to the Mall Road and Gandhi Park. The 400-acre campus has sports facilities along with an auditorium.
The school song
The school of St. Mary's, our hope and our pride,
Where from the bright morning to calm eventide,
In work ever earnest and keen happy play,
We grow mind and muscle, more manly each day.
Refrain:
The School of St. Mary's
Ah! Hear it is calling,
The young lives, the true lives,
The brave and the free,
With comrades beloved
And courage ne'er failing.
Fair school days shall roll on, roll on.
For you and me.
and the porch to St. Mary's for me and for you,
is the porch to a life that will ever be true.
Though far in the future our footsteps may roam,
To God and our Country,
Our school and our Home.
