St. Thomas College was established in the year 1984 and affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, STC has emerged as an institution of excellence in the field of higher education. The College is located in an area of 10 acres of land in Ruabandha Sector, Bhilai. It is a self-supporting and self-financing institution sponsored by St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church Mission, Bhilai. The St. Thomas College is run by a Christian Minority Community.
Location
St. Thomas College is located at the threshold of Bhilai city also known as Twin city Durg-Bhilai in Chhattisgarh state, India. The whole establishment is spread over 5 hectare of land, in Bhilai. It is approximately 6 km from Durg bus depot and Durg railway station facilitates fast commuting. Additionally, it is connected to each and every corner of Bhilai-Durg agglomeration through various means of transportation such as minibuses, minidors, auto rickshaws, etc.

The Administrative block holds offices of various administrative Chairman, Principal, and Departments of Finance, Purchase, Building, Staff etc.
Central library
The Central Library of S.T.C. has got an invaluable collection of books in different subjects. The library subscribes to the standard national and international journals pertaining to the fields of science, mathematics, humanities, management studies, commerce and education, magazines and newspapers, and is headed by a Sr. Librarian. The Central Library has got a cyber comer where the students and staff can get free access to internet. It is housed in a new double story block and contains separate reading rooms for staff and students. The Reference section provides relevant and useful study material in various disciplines. DEL-NET facility is also available in the library. Apart from the Central Library, each P.G. department maintains its own departmental library
St. Thomas College runs a unique system of Book Bank within its library facility. The deserving and needy students of all departments are lent a set of four books of different subjects which they can use for the entire academic session. The books can be returned after the university examinations are over.
Laboratories
The College has fully equipped Computer, Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Micro-biology, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology and Psychology laboratories.
Computer Center
The Computer Center of STC is one of the oldest Computer Centres in the Chhattisgarh region. Established in the year 1987, with only two PCs, the Computer Center at STC now has 85 computers with almost all advanced level software as well as the Internet communication system.
Wireless Network (Wi-Fi)
St. Thomas College provides wi-fi connection to the entire college campus. Teaching has evolved from the conventional chalk and duster mode to technology driven e-learning, St. Thomas College is one of the few institutions in the country that has adapted the latest advancements in this area
Open-Air cafeteria
The College Canteen A beautiful canteen under the shades of lush green trees are a favorite past time for the students where many kinds of health food are available.

Commerce Association (Comzenith)
Comzenith was formed by the Department of Commerce in the year 2008-09 with the motive of encouraging, motivating and nurturing the talents of students in almost all walks of life. This association had organized value generating programmes like industrial visit, guest lecture and seminars etc. The association focuses on the overall development of the students. Besides all these, the college organises the following competitions for the students to develop their talents: Debate, Quiz, Creative Writing, Music, Dance, Painting, Fashion Show, Flower Decoration, Rangoli etc. In addition to classroom communication, the College provides ample opportunity for the students to enrich their knowledge base and accelerate their learning curve through unique and innovative teaching methods. These include National, State and Department Level Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Symposia where the students participate actively and also interact with distinguished resource persons. Ashish Bhattacharya, a student of St. Thomas College, Topped the college for three consecutive years (2005-2008) and was the batch topper.
Botanical Association
Botanical Association has been formed in the year 1995. This comprises students as well as teachers and provides atmosphere in which both students and teachers can expand their knowledge in the area of Botany and its application. The association seeks to stimulate interest in the subject through programmes like seminars, guest speakers, field trips, workshops and tries to develop an aptitude for research among students.
Literary & Cultural Association
St. Thomas College, an esteemed institution in the field of education, strongly believes that exposure to arts and culture is essential for holistic living. In order to support this objective, the literary and cultural association of the college, functioning under the aegis of 'Kalapratibha' provides every opportunity for the students to express their individuality in various competitions. This association organizes a galore of events, all through the year to bring out the hidden talents and creativity of the students. The dedicated efforts by the members of literary and cultural association have enabled the stars of the college to outshine contestants from other colleges in many a fest. Students every year prove their mettle by winning many prestigious awards at both State, National and Zonal level. These cultural and literary events help to spread literary, fine art and cultural awareness among students. The motto of literary and cultural association is to retrieve lost trends, showcase current trends and encourage innovations.
