St. Bernard's School is a coeducational Catholic secondary school with academy status in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It's official opening date was 26 October 1961 at 3 pm. The school motto is "I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). The school prayer is the Memorare of Saint Bernard. The school was originally a 'Specialist School for the Arts', but now it has a specialism in 'Applied Learning' too. St. Bernard's allows students to study various qualifications, such as GCSEs, BTECs and Functional Skills, with most qualifications being equivalent to Level 2. A range of subjects are taught; alongside traditional core subjects like Maths, Religious Education is also mandatory for all students. Options that may be started, continued or dropped in upper school include French, Geography, Fine Art, Music, History, Media and Resistant Materials (Design and Technology). The main building of the school houses the reception, staffroom, hall, music rooms and the science block. This is linked to the English block and 'the Four Storey Building', where R.E., Geography, History, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages and Media are found. The Art block is a separate building consisting of Design and Technology, ICT and Art rooms. The majority of P.E. facilities are found in the Sports Hall, which is built on the school field.
