St John of God Geraldton Hospital

St John of God Hospital Geraldton is a division of St John of God Health Care, one of the largest providers of health care services in Australia.[1]

Established in 1935, the 60-bed acute care facility is located in the Mid West region of Western Australia.

Facilities

St John of God Hospital Geraldton houses two operating theatres and a range of onsite diagnostic services, including medical imaging and pathology.[2]

The hospital also operates a Specialist Medical Centre that provides facilities for permanent and visiting medical practitioners, encompassing a range of medical specialties.[3]

Services

The hospital provides health care to Geraldton and surrounding communities, on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Services provided by the facility include:

St John of God Hospital Geraldton specializes in maternity services and palliative care. The hospital does not provide emergency services.[4]

Social Outreach

St John of God Hospital Geraldton runs a number of social outreach programs, including the following:[5] • Centacare Young Mum’s Group – support groups for young mothers • Community Leave for Caregivers – paid and unpaid leave for caregivers participating in voluntary community service • Indigenous scholarships – two annual scholarships to indigenous students studying either registered or enrolled nursing • Manna Meals - home catering and meal delivery service available to patients and others in the community • Red Cross soup program – the hospital is part of the Red Cross and Suncity Christian Centre Soup Program

Bendat House Geraldton

The hospital operates Bendat House Geraldton as part of St John of God’s Horizon House program. Bendat House Geraldton provides long-term housing and support to homeless people aged 15 to 22.[6]
