Stare Kawkowo [ˈstarɛ kafˈkɔvɔ] (German: Alt Kockendorf) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Jonkowo, within Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-west of Jonkowo and 23 km (14 mi) north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
While Teutonic, with the Second Peace of Thorn in 1466 the area became part of the Kingdom of Poland until 1772; 1772-1945 Kingdom of Prussia and Germany (East Prussia).
