Starky were a band from Sydney, Australia, formed in 1998 from the ashes of Sydney pop band Pennidreadful who released a single and two EPs (Money For Woolen Socks and The Ping Pong Delegate) on the Phantom Records label. The band consisted of Beau Cassidy (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Nick Neal (bass and spoons), and Jonny Wilson (guitar).
Their first single, "Rock 'n' Roll is the Devils Music" was released in 1999 by Phantom Records, earned the title "Best New Talent" from Channel V, and won a $50,000 video clip.
In October 2003, Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre was published by Laughing Outlaw Records, produced by Rob Younger and was the 'Feature Album' on Australian youth radio station Triple J.
In 2006 was released the self-titled album Starky. Their single "Hey Bang Bang" has received considerable airplay on Triple J, and was nominated for Breakthrough Artist - Single in the 2006 ARIAs.
As of 28 July 2007, following their final show at the East Brunswick Hotel Starky ceased to exist. Announcing via a MySpace Blog that the band had split.
