Starve for the Devil is an album by melodic death metal band Arsis that was released on February 9, 2010, via Nuclear Blast Records.
History
Tracking starting in September 2009 at Planet Z Studios. Production was handled by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who also produced Arsis' previous record We Are the Nightmare. The album artwork was done by Mark Riddick, whom Arsis has worked with on all of their previous releases.
Although Starve for the Devil was originally scheduled for a January 15 release date, it was later pushed back into February with an announcement that a bonus track would be included on the European and Asian releases, and that two bonus tracks would be included on the limited Nuclear Blast mail order and vinyl editions. The second bonus track, a King Diamond cover of "The Lake", however, was pulled and only made available on the EMI compilation March is Metal Month 2010.[2]
Starve for the Devil received positive reviews from numerous publications, including Metal Assault,[3] Blistering,[4] The Metal Files,[5] Metal Injection,[6] Pop Matters,[7] About.com,[8] USA Progressive Music,[9] Global Domination,[10] Powerline Mag,[11] DC Metal Review,[12] and Raise Yer Fists.[13]
In January, 2010, Arsis released a music video for "Forced to Rock", the first track off Starve for the Devil.[14]
