The Provincial Council of Groningen[3] (Dutch: Provinciale Staten van Groningen,[4] pronounced [proːvɪnˈʃaːlə ˈstaːtən vɑn ˈɣroːnɪŋən]) are the States-Provincial for the Dutch province of Groningen. It forms the legislative body of the province. Its 43 seats are distributed every four years in provincial elections. Since 2007, it is chaired by Max van den Berg (PvdA).[5]
