The Sadguris Moedani I (Georgian: სადგურის მოედანი) station was built in the Soviet times along with the other stations of Tbilisi Metro. It was formerly, until 2011, known as Vagzlis Moedani (Georgian: ვაგზლის მოედანი). It is believed that the word "Vagzal" actually settled into the Russian language from the name of London Tube Vauxhall station and became widely used in Georgian language.
