Born in Berkshire and brought up in Cheshire, Danaos went to school in Holmes Chapel before attending college in Hartford, Cheshire to undertake a BTEC National Diploma.

Danaos completed his BSc. (Hons) in Environmental Science at the Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated in June 1999. He went on to work in the research sector of the pharmaceutical industry, while assisting in the family business of food production.

Career

In 2006, Danaos applied to join the BBC Weather Centre as a presenter. After a successful start, he joined the team and began presenting forecasts in February 2007. He began presenting for regional BBC news channels such as Reporting Scotland alongside Christopher Blanchett and Cat Cubie, as the programme was struggling to find replacement forecasters.[1] He has also done presenting work in Newcastle, Northern Ireland and Birmingham. Following a successful and popular time at Reporting Scotland, Danaos joined the BBC's national news channel to present regular forecasts in 2013.[2]
