Stephen Cole (headmaster)

Stephen Harwood Cole (born 1952) is a British schoolmaster, former Head Master of Woodbridge School in Woodbridge, Suffolk and current chair of the education committee of the free schools set up by the Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust.[1]

Biography

Born in South London,[2] in 1952, Stephen Cole was educated at Dulwich College and Merton College, Oxford, where he read Physics.[3] He taught at Wellington College and Merchant Taylors' School, in Northwood, London, before becoming Head Master of Woodbridge School in 1992.[4] He is currently the Chair of Education Committee of Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust (part of the Seckford Foundation), which runs three Free school in Suffolk.[4] He is also the chairman of the governors of Littlegarth School, an Independent preparatory school[5] and has served as a governor for The Old School Henstead and chair of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference Inspection Committee.[6] Stephen Cole is a keen runner and has run 21 London Marathons, raising over £120,000 for various charities.[2]
