Stephen James Hendry (born 4 December 1990), known professionally as Stephen James, is a British model. He is a former professional footballer and won international youth caps for Scotland.
Modelling career
In September 2012, James was scouted in Barcelona by an Elite Model Management agent and is a full-time model.[1] His work includes Calvin Klein,[2] Takeshy Kurosawa,[3] Philipp Plein,[2] Diesel,[4] XTI,[2] GQ Germany,[5] GQ Spain,[6] Adon Magazine,[7] ASOS, Men's Health Magazine,[8] El Pais Semanal and Windsor Smith.[9][10] His agencies include Elite Model Management (Paris, Barcelona, Copenhagen), Storm Model Management (London), I Love Models (Milan) and Wilhelmina Models (New York, Los Angeles).[11] James' modelling career has been highly successful since late 2012, mostly in Europe, North America, Australia and Japan.[1] He is known for being heavily tattooed and having many body piercings.[12]

Club
A midfielder, Hendry was a member of the youth team at Brentford before his release in 2008.[12] He went into the youth system at non-league club AFC Wimbledon,[13] before making professional appearances with Cypriot First Division side Nea Salamis Famagusta.[12] On 18 July 2010, Superleague Greece side Asteras Tripolis named Hendry in their 28 player squad to travel Australia for pre-season preparations, but he failed to win a contract.[14]
International
In October 2007, Hendry was called up to the Scotland U18 squad for a four-way international tournament in France.[15] He made his international debut when he came on for Michael Graham after 65 minutes of the second match of the competition versus the hosts.[16] He started in the final match against the United States, lasting 71 minutes of the 1-1 draw before being replaced by Craig Connell.[17] He finished his international career with two caps.[18]
Personal life
Hendry was born in Hammersmith, London.[12] He identifies as Jewish and is of Scottish, English, and Israeli heritage (his mother is Jewish) .[1][12] [19]
