"Steppin' Out" was a hit song for Kool & the Gang. It reached #89 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the R&B chart.[1]
Releases
The single was released through De-Lite Records in 1981 backed by "Just Friends" and in 1982 backed by "Love Festival", while the Japanese version had "Get Down on It" on its B-side.
The song was re-released in 2004, featuring Beverley Knight, for the remix album The Hits: Reloaded.
