Stepping Out Studios is a dance studio in Manhattan, New York that is focused on ballroom dance training for both amateur and professional dancers. Instructors include competitive dancers Michael Malitowski, Joanna Leunis and Anton Gazenbeek. The studio hosts social ballroom dance parties, serves as a venue for professional casting calls,[1] and is one of two temporary satellite studios for the Joffrey Ballet School.[2]
History
In 1984, Diane Lachtrupp began Stepping Out Dance Studios with the help of dance teacher Steven Stroud and a customer contact list obtained from Bill Davies, owner of a closing Manhattan dance studio where she had been a student. George Qiao, a student at Stepping Out Studios, acquired the business in 2005.
