Stephen White (born 1948), is an American science fiction author best known as the co-author of the Starfire-series alongside David Weber.

He is married with 3 daughters and currently lives in Charlottesville, Virginia. He also works for a legal publishing company. He previously served as a United States Navy officer and served during the Vietnam War and in the Mediterranean region.

Career

Stephen White wrote short stories set in the Starfire universe for Task Force Games' Nexus magazine, and wrote the Starfire novel Insurrection (1990) with David Weber after Nexus was cancelled; this book was the first in a tetralogy that continued through their last collaboration, The Shiva Option (2002), which made the New York Times bestseller list.[1] White also wrote Exodus (2007) with Shirley Meier.[1]
