Steven A. Moore
Steven A. Moore is the Bartlett Cocke Regents Professor in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture. Moore received his undergraduate degree in Architecture from Syracuse University and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, and was a Loeb Fellow of the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He teaches design and courses related to the philosophy, history, and application of sustainable technology. His specialization is in sustainable architecture, science and technology studies, politics of technology, philosophy of technology, and history of technology.
In 1999, Moore was appointed Director of UTSOA’s Sustainable Design Program. He went on to co-found the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) in 2002. He practiced at Moore/Weinrich Architects in Maine from 1972-1992 and has published articles in Center, the Journal of Architectural Education (JAE), the Journal of Architecture (JOA), Urban Studies, and Science Studies.
With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) he is currently working a new book, Coding the Future: Architecture as Technology.
