Storsmeden is a mountain in the western part of the Rondane mountain range. The mountains in the western part are called the Smiubelgen mountains.
The mountain is easiest to access on its western ridge. Experienced hikers may access via Veslesmeden, scrambling the eastern ridge.
The name
The meaning of the name is 'The big blacksmith'. (See also Veslesmeden and Smiubelgen.)
