StoryBox is a monthly magazine published by Bayard Presse. It is designed for children who are just being introduced to reading. From the ages of three to six the idea is that the child will be read to and there are many detailed pictures for them to point out and discuss with the parents.

The popular character SamSam who appears in StoryBox also has his own television show.[1]

A new character for 2009 is Polo, a smart little dog who leaves his island tree house looking for adventure. With Polo as their guide, children will discover the fundamentals and heart of storytelling.

However StoryBox is also used Internationally by many Parents who wish their children to learn English and due to its simplicity it is an early stepping stone to learning the language. With this in mind a CD with the stories and poems of each magazine are released.

From September 2009 Time for a Rhyme presents a read-aloud celebration of poetry and art for children and publishing these pages, StoryBox supports the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY), a non for profit organization working to defend every child's right to read. The first edition features the work of Quentin Blake.

The magazine is only sold by subscription and for the most part can not be bought in the shops. International schools that teach English as a Second Language (ESL - update of the previous English as a Foreign Language - EFL) allow their students to subscribe en masse to StoryBox as it aids their students improvement in English while they are at home.
