Stowting lies between Canterbury, Folkestone, Ashford and Hythe. In 1947, a Douglas C-47A crashed on the hillside above the village, killing eight of the 16 people on board.
Stowting has one Primary School and one church. It also holds residence to the Tiger Pub.
Stowting Cricket Club has been established since 1895, and play Dawes Field, near Stowting CofE Primary School. Stowting Cricket Club play in the Premier Division of the Invicta Cricket League and in Division 4 of the Kent Village Cricket League.
