Stree (Odia: ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ) is an 1968 Odia film directed by Sharada Prasana Nayak under pseudonymity screen name of Siddharth.[1][2][3][4]

Synopsis

Prasanna Choudhury is famous doctor and lives in Puri with his sister Anuaradha and brother Ashok. One day while traveling with her brother Ashok in sea shore, Anuradha finds a man lying unconsciousness in the tides. She rescues the man with the help of Ashok and bring him to her home. With the treatment of doctor Prasanna and timely nursing of Anuradha, the man named Debabrata goes well. In the meantime Anuradha and Debabrata fall in love. By knowing this Prasanna have no choice but agrees to the marriage of Anuradha and Debabrata. While reaching Debarata's home, Anuradha finds that he is a widower and has a son. Anuradha feels betrayed but as a devoted wife forgets everything and tries to adjust with the family. Gradually she takes care Debrabrat's family and also his son. Debabrata's sister Bhanu can't accept Anuradha and creates misunderstanding between wife and husband. At last biased Debabrata leaves the house with his son ignoring his wife Anuradha. But Anuradha doesn't lose hope. With her determination, sacrifice and devotion, the family unites at last.
