Streptomyces melanogenes is a bacterium species from the genus of Streptomyces which has been isolated from soil.[3][1][4] Streptomyces melanogenes produces melanomycin, 1-hydroxysulffurmycin B and 5-hydroxymaltol.[4][5][6]
