Suburban League
The Suburban League is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) athletics league made up of 15 high schools from Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage, and Summit counties in Northeast Ohio. It was formed in 1949 and expanded into two divisions in 2015.

League history
1940s
- The league formed in 1949 with Copley, Green, Hudson, Manchester, and Northfield as its charter members.
1950s
- In 1956, Highland joined for football only and competed for the '56 and '57 titles.
- In 1958, Mogadore, Revere, Twinsburg, and Woodridge joined the league.
1960s
- In 1964, Twinsburg left.
- In 1968, Mogadore left.
- In 1969, Coventry joined.
1970s
- In 1972, Norton joined.
- In 1973, Nordonia left. (As Northfield, it had merged with Macedonia)
- In 1976, Manchester left and was replaced by Highland, which entered as a full-time member this time.
- In 1978, Woodridge left and was replaced by Field.
1980s
- In 1983, Coventry left.
- In 1984, Wadsworth joined.
1990s
- In 1990, Field left and was replaced by Tallmadge.
- In 1997, Hudson left and was replaced by Cloverleaf.
2000s
2010s
- In 2011, Barberton left and was replaced by Nordonia.
- In 2013, Green announced it would leave to join the Federal League in 2015.[5] The schools of Aurora, Barberton, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Kent Roosevelt, North Royalton, Stow-Munroe Falls, and Twinsburg were then asked to consider joining a newly-aligned Suburban League that would include divisions based on enrollment.[1]
- In September 2013, Barberton,[6] Kent Roosevelt (2016-17) and North Royalton (2015-16) announced they would join the Suburban League.[2]
- A few days after, Aurora, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Stow-Munroe Falls, and Twinsburg announced they would look to join the league in 2015-16.[7][8]
- In December 2013, Cloverleaf announced it would leave for the Portage Trail Conference in 2015.[9]
