How SueEasy works

Litigants (people with legal complaints) can come to SueEasy and search for existing Class Action Lawsuits filed by users just like themselves. If there is an existing case, then they can go ahead and join that Class Action. If not, they can simply use the "Class Action Filer" button to submit a new class action. Besides class actions, SueEasy allows users to submit legal complaints to lawyers in more than 6o categories, to the best lawyers. Interested lawyers then contact users who have legitimate cases. SueEasy addresses all areas of law, including family law, criminal law, real estate, bankruptcy, personal injury, immigration, and intellectual property.

These are complaints against companies and products that have some defects, wronged the consumer or caused some form of discontent. Consumers suffering similar complaints against the same company or product can then search through the database and join the Class Action lawsuit. SueEasy claims to have a large pool of verified, award winning law firms and lawyers that specialize in mass torts and class action litigation. Lawyers login to SueEasy on a daily basis through SueEasy's secure lawyers area to view their "Virtual Docket". The lawyers then sort and go through legitimate complaints and contact the people involved in the potential Class Action to pursue the case through legal proceedings. The objective is to give consumers their due compensation and settlement for any damages or sufferings caused due to the faulty product or service. Settlements vary from hundreds, thousand, millions to billions of dollars, distributed amongst its litigants (people who filed the class action). SueEasy has pioneered the concept of Web 2.0 (user-powered) activism merged with litigation.[2]

Valuable resource for lawyers

SueEasy also provides targeted advertising for lawyers and a "Client Directory for Lawyers", as described by the Wall Street Journal.[3] "Class Actions Going Viral?" [4]

Criticism

SueEasy has met criticism from advocates of tort reform who deem it an unnecessary addition to the overburdened litigation industry in the United States. Several law blogs voiced their discontent soon after its launch.[5][6][7][8][9] However, positive write-ups from the American Bar Association (ABA) itself hailing it as a step towards the progression of the legal industry and its meeting of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission decrees calling for fair and balanced competition between lawyers,[10] has scored points for SueEasy as a valuable tool. Law Industry publications such as the Lawyers USA Weekly have also hailed SueEasy as a step in the right direction for innovation and advancement in the litigation world.[11][12][13][14]
