Sulfide:Quinone reductase

Sulfide:quinone reductase (EC 1.8.5.4) is an enzyme with systematic name sulfide:quinone oxidoreductase.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6] This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction

n HS⁻ + n quinone

\rightleftharpoons

polysulfide + n quinol

Sulfide:quinone reductase contains FAD. Ubiquinone, plastoquinone or menaquinone can act as acceptor in different species.
