The church is part of the Sulitjelma parish in the Salten deanery in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white wooden church was built in 1899, and it was consecrated on 12 November 1899 by Bishop Peter Wilhelm Bøckman. The church seats about 250 people.
