Sumbal Khan was a Pakistani professional footballer. He played as a center-half. Khan was also a former captain of the Pakistan national football team.

Career Overview

The NWFP-based Sumbal became the fifth captain of Pakistan in the 60-year history of PFF when he led Pakistan in the Four-Nation Colombo Cup 1955 at Dhaka. Sumbal was among few players who played in the First National Soccer Championship of Pakistan at Karachi's YMCA Ground in 1948 and he went on to represent NWFP until 1961 in PFF's show piece event.

He also represented Pakistan in the Four-Nation Colombo Cup in 1952 (Sri Lanka), 1953 (Burma) and the Second Asian Games 1954 at the Philippines. He also visited Sri Lanka, Singapore and China in 1956.

Club career

Sunbal Khan played for Peshawar Warsak FC. He has 02 sons 1) Malak Asad Khan 2) Malak Ajmal Khan and now-e-days his grandson Aimal Khan is such a great footballer but unfortunately the future of football in Pakistan is not bright.
