The Sumter Braves were a minor league baseball team located in Sumter, South Carolina. The team played in the South Atlantic League, and were affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. Their home stadium was Riley Park. In 1991, the team became an affiliate of the Montreal Expos and became the Sumter Flyers. The following year the team left Sumter and relocated to Albany, Georgia to become the Albany Polecats, from 1992 until 1996. The team still exists today as the current-day Delmarva Shorebirds, located in Salisbury, Maryland.[1]
