Sunil Kanoria is a Kolkata-based professional entrepreneur with over 28 years of experience in infrastructure sector including infrastructure leasing & finance.[1] He is the co-founder and Vice Chairman of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited.[2]

Sunil Kanoria is also the Joint Managing Director of Srei BNP Paribas, a 50:50 JV between Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited and BNP Paribas, France[3] and the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Viom Networks Limited, a JV between Tata Teleservices and Quippo, a Srei Group venture.[4] He is also the President of ASSOCHAM (a leading national Chamber of Commerce in India).[5]

Personal life

Sunil Kanoria was born in Kolkata in an Indian Hindu Marwari family on 4 May 1965. He is the son of Hari Prasad Kanoria and Champa Devi Kanoria.[6] He is the third among five children. He has two older brothers, Hemant Kanoria and Sanjeev Kanoria, one younger brother Sujit Kanoria, and a sister Manisha Kanoria Lohia. Sunil is married to Sunita Kanoria and has two children, Anant Raj Kanoria and Avani Shree Kanoria.

Membership

Sunil Kanoria has held several important positions during his career. He has been the Past President of Hire Purchase & Leading Association, Kolkata and Merchants' Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata. He was also an active member of the working group on Construction for the Tenth Five Year Plan (2002–2007) Planning Commission, Government of India and a Member of working group on construction for the 11th five-year plan.[7][8] He is presently the President of The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM),[5]
