Suparno Satpathy
Suparno Satpathy is a noted and highly respected socio-political leader from the state of Odisha in India. He is the great-grandson of Legendary Odia author Padmabhushan Late Kalindi Charan Panigrahi and grandson of the Legendary Chief Minister of Orissa Late Nandini Satpathy & Late Devendra Satpathy.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] He is the Chairman of Smt. Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT), a leading non-profit organisation of India working for social causes. From 2007 till 2012 he held the office of Convenor PMYSA-Orissa, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. He was a part of the Indian National Congress party from Dec 2006 till 21 March 2014. He joined Aama Odisha Party a day after resigning from the Congress. Suparno Satpathy unsuccessfully contested for Member of Parliament in the 2014 Indian general election from Dhenkanal.[12] Shri. Suparno Satpathy is a popular columnist specialized in socio-political and environmental issues.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19]
