Surajit Dhar
Surajit Dhar is a filmmaker based in Kolkata, India.
Education
Dhar earned a post-graduate diploma in Cinema from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, in 1988.
Feature films
Surajit made his debut directing the Bengali film Pa Ma Ga Re Sa starring Rohit Roy, Reshmi Ghosh, and Gauri Karnik.[1] His next film, Megh Roddur, which starred Subhashree Ganguly, was released in February 2013.[2] In February 2014 it was announced that he would direct a third film Britto starring Vikram Chatterjee, Ena Saha, and Soumitra Chatterjee.[3]
Television and documentaries
Surajit is a producer with the Indian Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the West Bengali Information and Cultural Affairs department. He is also an associate member of the Federation of Film Editors of Eastern India.
Surajit established a Bengali channel, Amantran TV, in April 2002 across the east coast of the United States for New Jersey-based Innovative Solutions Systems, where he served as vice president. During his tenure he designed the media plan for a digitized version of Rabindrinath Tagore’s anthology of songs, Gigitabitan.
During his tenure with Netguru, Surajit's most significant directorial venture was the series Prapto Bayeshkader Janya, a weekly fictional programme on Urban Womanscape, commissioned by Zee Alpha Bangla Channel. It was broadcast four times since March 2001. He scripted, directed and conceived the original storyline. He did the Bengali version of Mirza Ghalib by Gulzar for Bangladesh Television.
Surajit made a series of documentaries commissioned by NAIP and monitored by CRRI on various aspects of rice production and its diverse practices. He has made films on bamboo drip irrigation in Meghalaya for the Directorate of Extension, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI.
Academic work
Surajit has been a visiting faculty member at Rupam, National Institute of Electronic Communication in Jaipur, the Institute of Film & Allied Arts in Kolkata, and the Techno India Group of Colleges in Media Science. He is also associated with the Big Aims Media Institute of the Relliance Group in Kolkata.

Jewellers, Rajgharana Sarees, Gazab Tea, Belong Designerwear, Aparna Sarees, Techno India Gr., East West Gr. Of Colleges Bangalore, Rawatpura gr. Of Colleges M.P, Cocola Noodles, and Popular Hospitals in Dhaka.
