Surangani Ellawala (1939 – 14 March 2016) was a Sri Lankan politician who served as 9th Governor of the Central Province of Sri Lanka from 27 January 2015 to 14 March 2016.[1][2] She was a member of the People's Alliance[3] and the mother of former UPFA MP for Ratnapura, Nalanda Ellawela (1968-1997). Ellawala died on 14 March 2016 while serving as the Central Province Governor.[4]
