Susan Emma Mills (born 7 February 1958) is an English businesswoman who runs the Childcare East Midlands Group, a Nottinghamshire based child care business.
The group includes, Cherubs Day Nurseries ltd, Childcare East Midlands LLP, Longdale Nursery Schools, Busy Bee's, Glosscalm Properties ltd, The Glosscalm Group, Childcare Training Services ltd and Step Ahead Kids Club's. As well as running the CEM Group, Mills is also a partner in Plastimet ltd, a plastic and fabrications distribution company based in Derbyshire.
Career
On leaving school when she was 16, Mills studied beauty therapy at college, after which she worked as a fashion model. Mills then went on to start a chain of Health Club's and Spa's.
When Mills fell pregnant with her first child, she and her husband John closed the health clubs, and then opened their first day nursery. So popular was the centre, that they opened a second site on the same road. The group grew over the next two decades into the multimillion-pound chain that is established today.
Mills has a current estimated networth of £27 million.
Personal life
Susan Emma Mills and second husband John, have three son's, Charlie, Jonathan and Harry. Her eldest son, Charlie, works as an actor. While her two younger sons both work within Susan's company.
In 2011, Mills purchased Lound Hall in Bothamsall, a stately home in the North Nottinghamshire country side. The mansion went under a 4-year, multimillion-pound restoration, bringing the house and grounds back to life. Mills and her family use the manor house as a family home.
