Suzanne Jill Levine

Suzanne Jill Levine (born October 21, 1946 in New York, New York)[1] is an American poet,[2] translator, translation scholar and critic.[3]

She earned a BA at Vassar College in 1967,[1] an MA at Columbia University in 1969,[1][2] and a PhD at New York University in 1976.[1][4] She specializes in Latin American literature. Some of her most notable translations include works by Jorge Luis Borges,[3] Manuel Puig, Adolfo Bioy Casares, and Guillermo Cabrera Infante.[5]

Levine is an honorary member of IAPTI.[6]
