Swami Sivamurti Saraswati is an Acharya of Satyanandashram Hellas, Greece. She was born in Sydney, Australia.

On the 5th of February 1976 Swami Sivamurti Saraswati was initiated into poorna sannyasa by her Guru Swami Satyananda Saraswati. In 1977, she travelled to Greece to spread the teachings of Satyananda Yoga. In 1984, she established a residential ashram east of Athens (Satyanandashram Hellas[1]), and centres in various cities and islands of Greece. Sivamurti accompanied Swami Satyananda and Swami Niranjanananda on innumerable overseas tours. In 1993, she was recognized as Yoga Acharya and in 2004, she was appointed an official emissary of Satyananda Yoga.

Yoga

The term "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit word «Yuj» meaning "unite." Yoga is a means to awaken the latent potential within and thus gradually approach the ultimate goal of life, which is self-realization, transcendence, liberation. Life and life’s work of Swami Sivamurti are a constant reminder that esoteric sciences are not just philosophies pertaining to an outdated past, but contemporary and of vital importance to this day and age.
