Swedish Publishing Award

The Swedish Publishing Award

The Swedish Publishing Award[1] (Swedish: Svenska Publishing-Priset) is an annual award for newspapers, magazines, books and other printed products. The award has been conferred annually since 1990 by the journal Populär Kommunikation (Popular Communications) in a number of categories of printed communication. The award is considered Sweden's most comprehensive graphic communications award.

Any company, organization, government agency, municipality, publisher, agency, consultant or individual can register magazines, books, annual reports and other printed products with the competition. The award jury is made up of active and leading communication experts, such as copywriters, researchers, designers, journalists and editors. The jury not only assesses design, but also give points to typography, layout, text content and reprographic quality.

The jury first nominates three to five candidates in each category. The nominees are made public in September each year. The awards are handed out at a gala evening in the Stockholm Concert Hall in November. The winners receive an award figurine and a diploma. All nominees receive a diploma.

The jury also awards the Great Publishing Award to an outstanding nominee.
