Sylhet Engineering College
Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) ( সিলেট প্রকৌশল কলেজ ) is a public undergraduate (B.Sc Engineering) College (As like BUET, KUET, CUET, RUET ) in Sylhet, Bangladesh, established in 2007. It is established as a Future engineering university named SUET, and is affiliated with the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology
Introduction
Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) established in the year 2007 under the School of Applied Sciences & Technology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, is best of its kind with a motto to produce the best in class engineers for the 21st century. It is the latest addition to Bangladesh's government engineering institutions which previously were only BUET, CUET, KUET and RUET. Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) is one of the new and modern engineering colleges in Bangladesh. Postgraduate studies and more Engineering departments are going to be introduced soon. It is expected that Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) will be upgraded to a full-fledge public university soon and will be named "Sylhet University of Engineering and Technology (SUET)."
Campus
The Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) campus is located at Tilagarh, approximately six kilometers away from the heart of Sylhet city. SEC has three large academic buildings, library and computer building, administrive building, the principal's residence, teachers and staff quarters. There are two male hostels and a female hostel for Students.
Departments
- Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).
- Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
- Department of Civil Engineering (CE).
Each department offers 4 years B.Sc (Engineering) degree every year.
Postgraduate studies and more engineering departments are going to be introduced soon. Sylhet Engineering College(SEC) will be upgraded to a full-fledged public university and will be named Sylhet University of Engineering and Technology(SUET).

Admission Process
Students who have passed the SSC and HSC from Science background can apply for admission if they fulfill the minimum requirement. Admission into SEC is highly competitive and needs a high academic attainment at the S.S.C. and H.S.C. level. Selection of the students for admission is made through an admission test. Academic activities are completed with four year semester credit system.
Campus Life
Classes are held everyday from 8am to 5pm without weekly holiday (Friday). All academic activities are maintained by administrive office. Educational tour was organized for the students every year. Various cultural activities and special days are celebrated in this campus. e.g. International Mother language day, Independence day, Victory day and pohela baishakh.
Campus Radio
Bangladesh's 1st campus based online radio known as Campus Radio was originally broadcast by Sylhet Engineering College. Now it is maintained by Department of Computer Science and Engineering (SEC).
Central Library
Central library is situated besides Academic office.
