Syra Yousuf Khan, better known as Syra Shehroz, (Urdu: سارہ شہروز, ‎), is a Pakistani actress, model and VJ.[1]

Life

Yousuf was born in Karachi, Pakistan. Her mother is from Afghanistan and father from Pakistan. She is the sister of VJ Palwasha Yousuf and actress Alishba Yousuf. On 21 October 2012, she married Shehroz Sabzwari, the son of actor Behroze Sabzwari in Karachi,[2] and gave birth to a daughter Nooreh in 2014, putting her career temporarily in haitus.[3]

Career

Originally a model,[4][5] she won the Veet Celebrations of Beauty Awards,[6] in the Most Beautiful Smile category[7] and the Sunday Award for Best Showstopper Award.[8] Yousuf started as VJ at MTV Pakistan hosting Bheja Fry and Most Wanted. She made her acting debut in serial Mera Naseeb,[9] and was nominated for Best New Actress at the Pakistan Media Awards.[10] In 2012, she appeared in the serial Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay with her husband Shehroz Sabzwari a remake of the Pakistani serial "Tanahaiyan" alongside Marina Khan, Badre Khalil, and Behroze Sabzwari. The next year, she began playing the role of Aleena in Darmiyan.[11] She played alongside her husband in the 2015 film Love You Babylicious,[12] and was booked to appear in Jawad Bashir's next film, Teri Meri Love Story, opposite Salman Shahid, Mohib Mirza and Mohsin Abbas Haider. The film is expected to be premiered in April 2016.[13]
