Szilard–Chalmers effect
The Szilard–Chalmers effect is defined as the breaking of a chemical bond between an atom and the molecule which the atom is part of, as a result of a nuclear reaction of the atom. The effect can be used to separate isotopes by chemical means.
The discovery of this effect is due to L. Szilárd and T.A. Chalmers.
