Tabenna

Tabenna (Tabennae, Tabennisi) (Coptic: ⲧⲁⲃⲉⲛⲛⲏⲥⲓ) is considered the first cenobitic monastery. It was a community founded by Pachomius on an island of the Nile in Upper Egypt.
