Tadija Dragićević (Serbian Cyrillic: Тадија Драгићевић; born January 28, 1986) is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays for Budućnost Podgorica.
Professional career
He grew up with Crvena zvezda Belgrade youth team, and patiently improved himself as a player until he became team captain and Adriatic League MVP.[1] On January 22, 2010, after five years in the first team, he was released from the club due to financial difficulties the club has fallen into.[2]
On January 25, 2010, he signed with Lottomatica Roma for the rest of the season.[3][4] The following season he spent playing for ALBA Berlin in Basketball Bundesliga.[5] In July 2011, he signed a two-year contract with Angelico Biella in Italy.[6] In 30 games of the Italian League he averaged 10.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
In July 2012, he signed a one-year deal with Azovmash.[7] In October 2013, he signed a two-month deal with the Turkish team Anadolu Efes.[8] Later, he didn't extend a contract with the team so he was released.[9] On January 3, 2014, he returned to his former club Crvena zvezda Belgrade, signing for the rest of the season.[10]
On September 15, 2014, Dragićević signed a one-year deal with the French team Strasbourg IG.[11] On September 24, 2015, he signed with the Montenegrin team Budućnost Podgorica.[12]
NBA
He was drafted 53rd overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. His draft rights were traded in June 2012 to Dallas Mavericks.[13] On July 14, 2014, Dragićević rights were traded to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Greg Smith.[14]
