Seyed Taher Sabahi (born July 21, 1940) is an art dealer, journalist, author and lecturer born in Tehran.

Sabahi is a founding member of the Italy Merchants of Eastern Carpets Institute and has written a number of books on Eastern rugs and rug making, he is also the editor in chief of the Ghereh International Carpet & Textile Review journal which is published in Italian and English.[1]

Biography

Born in Tehran and Sabahi moved to Rome in September 1961. Sabahi attended medical school in the University of Bologna's Faculty of Pharmacy. During 1972 he was recognized as an expert in Eastern (particularly Iranian) rugs and rug making. He is the member of the albo national journalists in Rome and founder and president of the Club of Amateurs Carpet 1984 (CATO), and in 1983 founded the Association of Italian Markets Oriental Rug.
