"Take Me Away" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne, written by herself and Evan Taubenfeld for her second studio album, Under My Skin (2004). It has an edgy, post-grunge sound and started playing on Canadian rock radio in March 2004. At around the same time that the album's lead single, "Don't Tell Me", was being promoted.[4] The song was also released as the B-side of "Don't Tell Me" physical single in many regions.[5]
"Take Me Away" was re-released digitally on iTunes Store with "I Always Get What I Want" on May 24, 2004 as the promotional tool for Under My Skin, which was released on the next day.[1][6]
Live performances
"Take Me Away" appeared on Lavigne's setlist for her worldwide tour, Bonez Tour (2004–05).
